About Us
Procurement Excellence is a specialist consulting firm with expertise in procurement, supply chain and related areas, including outsourcing, category management, supplier relationship management and major project procurement. We have worked extensively in virtually every part of the public sector, as well as in the private sector in areas including financial services, FMCG, utilities, entertainment and communications, business and professional services.
We can both think and do – helping clients to develop strategies and also to implement and deliver real, measurable results.
The Managing Director of Procurement Excellence is Peter Smith, an experienced consultant and procurement director. Peter was President of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in 2003 and was previously Procurement Director for Dun & Bradstreet, the Department of Social Security and the NatWest Group. He has acted as consultant and adviser to many top organisations, both public and private sector.
Peter Smith is an approved Office of Government Commerce (OGC) ‘SACS’ Consultant. This can make it easier for public sector organisations to engage us without going through lengthy and formal tendering processes.
We also have links with other specialist firms (see ’links’ page), including a number who are members of major public sectors frameworks such as Catalist (OGCbuying.solutions).
So why might you want to use us?
- We really do understand procurement, supply chain, outsourcing and related issues very deeply. We only provide consultants with real experience. Test us.
- We are independent of other consultancies, software firms, outsourced service providers or similar. Our only interest is what is best for you.
- We promise we won’t sell you more than you need. We‘re not interested in turning what should be a 10-day assignment for an experienced adviser into nine 23 year-old consultants camping in your office for the next three years.
- If we don’t think we are the best people to help you, we will try and recommend someone we think is appropriate.
